This unique creation features gold-epoxied driftwood, responsibly gathered from the southernmost shores of Florida, serving as a stunning natural canvas for a rare and remarkable centerpiece: an original Tiffany Favrile glasswork, handcrafted between 1870 and 1930 by Louis Comfort Tiffany, son of renowned jeweler Charles Lewis Tiffany.
Tiffany coined the term Favrile to describe his signature blown glass - distinguished by its hand-crafted nature, iridescent finish, and exceptional artistry. The glowing green hue under black light reveals the presence of uranium, once commonly used in antique glass to achieve this luminous effect. The ethereal shimmer is the result of Louis Comfort Tiffany's pioneering technique of incorporating various metals to create that iconic, rainbow-like sheen.
Surrounding the centerpiece are original handmade white "raindrops," identifiable by their organic shapes and the classic pontil mark - a flat spot left when the artist separates the glass from the working rod. These droplets are estimated to have been created between 1910 and 1950, adding further vintage authenticity to this remarkable work.
